Volunteers sorting donations in the Capital Cares warehouse

About us

A Utah nonprofit getting goods to people in need.

Capital Cares is a non-faith-based 501(c)(3) started by Capital Church. We take in donated goods and move them to partner organizations who serve people across Utah.

What we do

A goods program, run with dignity.

Every month, a national retailer donates truckloads of goods. We sort and store them in our Salt Lake City warehouse, publish what's available, and move it out through partners who already know the people they serve.

Whether your organization serves refugees, the underhoused, or the food insecure, we want to help you have access to material goods that may benefit your clients with dignity and abundance.

How it works

From a truckload to a doorstep.

Three steps, every month, for every partner organization in our network.

  1. 01

    Goods Donated

Every month, Capital Cares receives truckloads of goods generously donated by a national retailer. These goods are sorted and stored in our warehouse.

  2. 02

    Partners Order

Because donated goods range from diapers to furniture, our partners receive a list of available items that fit in line with their organization.

  3. 03

    Distribution

Through partner organizations that align with the Capital Cares mission, these goods are distributed to those in need.
